Curtis Lok, Junior

What is your name and grade? My name is Curtis Lok and I am a junior. 

Where did you transfer from? I transferred from Hong Kong. 

How’s your experience so far after being a transfer student? It was great, I met a lot of new friends, new classmates, and new teachers and I learned a lot about American culture. 

What’s been your biggest accomplishment? My biggest accomplishment is planning to be a Niles North Point tutor next year, and also being a member of HOSA and the tutoring club. 

How long have you been in HOSA? I have been in HOSA for one year and it’s really fun. 

What is your favorite part about HOSA? My favorite part about HOSA is [that] you can learn a lot of medical information, and if you want to have Korean jobs [for example,] you should join HOSA. You’ll learn a lot of stuff!

How do you overcome the nerves when you’re about to compete? You just practice more, study the materials, and you’ll be fine. 

Would you recommend anyone to join and if so why? I would recommend all people to join even if you don’t have any medical or health career experience cause it’s very fun, you learn a lot, and you meet new friends. 

What is the best memory you have from this year so far? I met a lot of new friends and I joined HOSA. 

What’s your favorite activity outside of school? My favorite activity outside of school is swimming, running, and also drawing.

What is your favorite TV show? My favorite TV show is Stranger Things.
