After a long season of early mornings and late afternoons, the Niles North varsity swim team is prepared to make waves at this year’s sectional meet at none other than our very own state of the art aquatics facility on Feb. 17.

Diving is up first, starting at 9:30 AM, with North’s sole diver, Benji Rubinberg. He’s had an impressive season so far, and has high hopes coming into the sectional meet. Benji will have plenty of competition with talented divers from an assortment of other schools from both the Central Suburban League and from the Chicago Public High School League.

Swimming will take the stage at 1:00 PM, starting off with the 200 yard medley relay. The team is looking forward to this meet, especially the seniors, who are either retiring after the sectional meet, or are hoping to go to the IHSA state competition. Look out for freshman Vincent Pi, who has a promising future on the team, and already holds some of North’s freshman records. “It’s pretty exciting to be here for the first time” said Vincent while talking about his season, and it is an exciting time for everyone on the team who have been waiting to see where their hard work has gotten them.

Remember to come out and support our team Feb. 17 starting at 9:30 AM in the Niles North aquatics facility, when NN Swim and Dive plans to bring their best performances to finish up the season.
