The new Pokemon game has taken over Niles North. The game was released Oct. 11 and there are a large number of students who have already completely mastered the game, not to mention senior Lyndale Baroro, who was one of the first to beat it. “Yeah, I beat the game in about four days, with around 60 hours invested. I didn’t really sleep and I played during school.”
The game starts out in the Kalos Region, and you begin your journey by choosing one of the three starters. You can choose from Chespin, the grass-type, Fennekin, the fire-type, or Froakie, the water-type. Then you’re off, trying to obtain all of the gym badges and beat the Elite Four.
There are many new features that set this game apart from older versions. X & Y introduces a new MEGA evolution, Super Training, new and improved Exp. Share, customizing your trainer, and also fairy type Pokemon. Also, it’s in 3D. The graphics of this game are out of this world, and are reason enough to play.
“My favorite aspect of it would probably be the new Pokemon in the the Kalos Region, there are many more Pokemon and evolutions. Also, if you look at the graphics, they’re really well done. You can even customize your character to make it look like you, so its as if you’re transported into the game,” junior Lianne Coballes said.
Now to the million dollar question, which is better, X or Y?
“I think X is better, I don’t know why everyone likes Y. Xerneas is way cooler than Yveltal,” senior Natalie Grosch said.
“Y is definitely better! I get to have a bird of destruction and feed it cupcakes!” senior Emre Erel said.
To be honest, the two games don’t have as many differences as Black and White had in the past. Either game will fulfill your Pokemon dreams.
If I were you, I would run to the nearest Game Stop and grab the new game to catch up with other fellow trainers.
