Ella Yelich-O’Connor, also known by her stage name Lorde, is a fairly new artist. She’s from Auckland, New Zealand, and is only 16!
Her music has been gaining popularity in the last couple of months. You may be familiar with some of her songs: “Royals” and “Tennis Court” seem to be the most popular.
However, you should take a look at her new album, Pure Heroine. This album is combined with some of her already well known songs, and some incredible new ones.
In her new song, “Still Sane,” she sings about all of her hard work to get to where she is, as a top charting artist at the age of 16. “All work and no play, never made me lose it, all business all day, keeps me up a level.”
She’s been writing, recording, and singing since she was 12, after being discovered at her school talent show. Her new album definitely does all of her hard work justice.
My personal favorite off the album is Glory and Gore. “Glory and gore go hand in hand, that’s why we’re making headlines, you could try and take us, but victory’s contagious.”
If you’re already a fan of Lorde, check out this album! If you’ve never heard of her, you should definitely take a look at her other albums, but especially this new one.
