How would you like the news at your fingertips — literally? Well, you may not be able to fit the contents of a complete newspaper on your fingernails, but if you’re the patient type (pun intended), you can give your fingernails a look worthy of headlines.  Take a look at this article’s featured image. These statement newspaper-themed nails are both simple and cute but take some patience. Follow these steps for adorable newspaper nails.

What you need: base and top clear polish coat, newspaper, rubbing alcohol, scissors, q-tips, polish remover and a very light polish color (preferably pink, nude or gray).

Before starting, make sure you cut out small squares of newspaper to use for this design.

1. Apply a base coat to your nails.

2. Paint your nails using the lightly colored polish. Let them dry before continuing.

3. Take the rubbing alcohol and pour it into the cap or a small cup.

4. Dip one nail into the rubbing alcohol for about five seconds.

5. Take your finger out and press a small piece of newspaper onto your nail. Make sure you you apply full pressure to the entire nail. Peel off carefully after about 15 seconds.

6. If there is some newspaper print left on your finger, take a q-tip and some polish remover, and carefully remove the print from your skin.  Be very careful not to touch your actual nail as this will ruin your work so far.

7.  Repeat steps 4-6, until you have done all your nails.  Let your nails dry fully.

8.  Apply a top coat.  This ensures that the print will stay on your nails and gives your nail an extra shine.
