As the summer comes to a close, fall rolls in with excitement for things to come, one of those being the football season. Boasting 14 seniors this year, the team is experienced and polished. After the 24-25 season, the team lost many of its seniors, leading to the team now working harder than ever. When asked how the football team is working to get better this year, Spencer Pearl, senior, says that “The mentality changed. The energy that our new coaches brought in definitely changed the mentality in us.” This is the fourth season that Pearl has played for the football program at Niles North
“We definitely had some gaps to fill in terms of skill after we lost our seniors last year, but we’re doing the best with what we have, and that’s who we’re going to ride with.” Pearl says
Last year, the team was 2-3 in conference. This season looks like a tough schedule, including schools like Niles West, Maine West, and Vernon Hills, kicking it off tonight against Evanston. This season looks to be an exciting one, Pearl says that “I think we will have more success than we have had in a really long time. Our group is overall mentally tougher than we have been in years, and that’s going to take us far. Not only that, but our bond as a team is strong.”
