I recently tried puppy yoga, and it was such a fun and unique experience. The class was held in a local studio in Chicago, where puppies roamed freely as we followed a beginner yoga class session.
The instructor was very kind and accommodating. She designed the itinerary of the class so that everyone of all abilities was able to enjoy the activity. She never pressured anyone to go beyond what they were comfortable doing. It truly was an experience that was welcoming for everyone.
The first 30 minutes of class were dedicated to a warm-up without puppies, giving them time to rest before playtime. After our warm-up, we spent 15 minutes of class in a circle where the puppies roamed around playfully. They had caretakers and breeders on sight to keep the puppies out of trouble and to clean up their messes. Finally, the last 15 minutes of class were dedicated to a cool down where the puppies roamed around as we completed our last bit of yoga.
Although it was a fun and balancing experience, it was very expensive. It costs 70 dollars per person for one session. Considering the price, it may not be affordable for everyone, but for those who can invest, the combination of relaxation and interaction is worthwhile.
Overall, it was the serotonin boost I needed this season. Especially during a season of stress, I’d recommend this to anyone looking for a low-pressure, fun way to reduce stress. For more information, visit this link.
