What is your name and grade level? My name is Kulsum Siddiqui and I am a junior.
Who is someone that inspires you? My mother inspires me to be my best self because she does within my family and in her career. I would love to be like her.
What activities are you involved in and outside of school? In school, I’m involved in HOSA, Dance Marathon, the Spanish Honors Society, and fashion. Outside of school, I’m really interested in art.
What is your favorite thing about fashion? My favorite thing about fashion is the freedom of being able to make whatever I want and then wear it.
What inspired you to become involved in fashion? In like fifth grade, I looked in my closet and realized that I only had three shirts. From then on, I started shopping and seeing inspiration from Pinterest to make some of my own clothes, especially during quarantine. It really allowed me to be creative.
If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be, and why? Probably mangos because I have such a sweet tooth and I feel like it’s super healthy, and I wouldn’t get sick of it.
What is one of your unpopular opinions? I don’t like how wearing sweats or loungewear is so normalized in America. A lot of the time, people choose comfort over fashion, and I feel like people should take more pride in what they wear.
Where is your favorite place you’ve traveled to? Probably Turkey because I went to Istanbul and I feel like it was so different from places I’ve traveled to. Both the history and infrastructure were so rich. It felt like a vacation, and also not in the best way possible.
If you could give any advice to a freshman, what would it be? Know your limits regarding caseloads or classes you can take. For example, freshman year I took AP World History, and I feel like I totally wasn’t ready for it.
What is your favorite movie or TV show, and why? My favorite show is Gilmore Girls because I feel like the dynamic is so ordinary, but also not. It’s a really interesting, easy watch.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why? I would choose telepathy so I could get endless knowledge, which could get me through life so easily. I would totally get As in every class.
What animal would you be if you could choose any? I would choose to be a cat because they are domesticated animals and I would totally enjoy lounging around someones house and getting loved on. I would have no worries.
