Rod Wave returned to the United Center on Nov. 18 while on his tour titled Last Lap, accompanied by his opening acts, Lil Poppa, Dess Dior, Eelmatic, Toosii, and Moneybagg Yo. The last time Rod Wave was performing at the United Center was in 2022 on his Nostalgia tour
Entering the venue, the vibes were positive and very exciting, as this was Rod Wave’s fifth tour that headlined. The United Center was packed with fans, all eager to see Wave perform. I have never been to a Rod Wave concert before, and the energy from his fans were through the roof. I feel like he displayed the genuine connections that he has created with his fanbase since he first started as an artist.
The title of the tour, Last Lap, is taken from Wave’s most recent album, which includes the hits ‘25’ and ‘Passport Junkie’. Similar to previous albums, a common theme seen within this album is heartbreak and sorrow. Throughout the show, Wave played some of his biggest hits, ranging from ‘Rags2Riches’ to his collaboration with 21 Savage, ‘Turks & Caicos’.The whole night was full of liveliness, even after the concert ended, people were still singing songs, even as we were filing out of the United Center.
Overall, the concert was a huge success, and Rod Wave really knows how to entertain a crowd, he had everyone up and singing his songs the entire time, which is what makes a good concert so good.
