From Monday, September 16 to Saturday, September 21, Niles North will be at its most spirited as it celebrates Homecoming Week. The Student Activities department, now headed by Interim Director Susan Shaba, has released the school spirit schedule for next week.
You won’t have to change for school on Monday, Sept. 16 to participate in “Pajama Day.” Fuzzy slippers, cozy pants, and sleeping caps will be welcomed!
You’ll feel patriotic on Tuesday, Sept. 17 for “Red, White, and Blue Day!” Don a flag, a cap, or whatever else you may have to represent America.
No need for a time machine to celebrate “Decades Day” on Wednesday, Sept. 18. Take it to the 2000s with mom jeans, thrift a flannel for the grunge 90s, or channel the 80s with some shoulder pads!
You might see your favorite celebrity at Niles North on Thursday, Sept. 19 for “Dress Like Your Favorite Hollywood Star or Character Day.” Is Brad Pitt still in?
Finally, Friday, Sept. 20 is “Class Color Day.” Freshmen will wear white, Sophomores will wear gray, Juniors will wear black, and Seniors will wear purple! There will also be a Fall Pep Assembly in the afternoon, meaning classes will follow the PM Assembly Schedule.
The Niles North Homecoming Parade will also be held on Friday at 6:00PM, starting in the north parking lot and snaking its way through Old Orchard Mall before ending at Chuck Pos Stadium to lead into the Homecoming Football Game. Niles North Football will take on the Elk Grove Grenadiers with kickoff scheduled for 7:00PM.
The week will culminate on Saturday, Sept. 21 for Homecoming! The theme will be “Hollywood Red Carpet” and will start at 7:00PM. Doors close at 8:00PM, so make sure you arrive on time to enjoy the night’s festivities. For more information, please consult the Homecoming FAQ document.
North Star News will be covering Homecoming Week on its Instagram page (@northstarnewspaper), so if you would like to be featured, participate along with your classmates and get spirited!
