“Gooooooooood morning Vikings! It’s Johnny, Nic, Olivia, and Ruby, and we are your VV Viking voice!” These 4 enthusiastic students read off announcements and emcee assemblies and other school events. But who exactly are your VV Viking Voices?
Johnny Chamoun, senior
Why did you decide to audition for Viking Voice?
I was heavily influenced by my peers as well as my teachers to audition and I got in.
What do you think makes a Viking a Viking?
Having school spirit, you know, just being having fun at our football games, just coming and supporting each other, being a community thing.
Nic Craciun, senior
Why did you decide to audition for Viking Voice?
It’s honestly because I had friends last year who were in Viking Voice, and it just seemed really fun. Being sort of like such a figure in the school sounds like something I wanted to do.
What do you think makes a Viking a Viking?
Probably respect. Just being able to see eye to eye with everybody else as you walk around in the hallway and in your classes. Just at a baseline level, respect.
Olivia Russell, senior
Why did you decide to audition for Viking Voice?
I’ve always been in theater since I was seven years old. I really enjoy performing. Public speaking is kind of my forte, so it felt perfect.
What do you think makes a Viking a Viking?
School spirit as well as support in the arts and sports, and overall support for all sorts of activities.
Ruby Rosenberg, senior
Why did you decide to audition for Viking Voice?
I’m a very outgoing person and I know a lot of people around school. I don’t really hesitate to reach out to even strangers, just because I enjoy connecting with all types of people. I thought my personality would be really good for it.
What do you think makes a Viking a Viking?
I think what makes a Viking a Viking is embracing the diversity of this school. So many different people go to Niles North. Embracing that unique diversity is definitely what makes a Viking a Viking, and what makes Niles North so special.
Look out for these 4 special Vikings at all-school events. They can’t wait to show their school spirit for the 2024-2025 school year!
