What is your name and grade? My name is Angelica Michals and I’m a senior so it’s my last year of high school.
Where are you from? I’m originally from Chicago. I moved here in the 5th grade.
What do you like most about Niles North? I like the atmosphere, the environment, and how welcoming it feels. The staff and security guards are always making sure and checking in with students to make sure they’re okay. I love how I can never feel scared to talk to the staff members at this school and how they’re never afraid to talk to me as well so it feels very supportive.
What’s your favorite part about high school? Definitely all the different classes I took because I feel like I made so many different friends throughout the four years and I could always make different relationships with people regardless of the class it was. I like that there was always someone I could talk to and create memories with.
What are your pet peeves? One of my pet peeves are definitely people who chew really loudly. It annoys me to the point where I can’t stay in the same room as them. Another one is slow walkers, especially when it comes to school and I’m trying to walk through the hallways and someone’s walking really slow, it makes me really upset.
Favorite fast food place? My favorite fast food place is Chic-fil-a. I love their breakfast and fries.
What are your hobbies? My hobbies are hanging out with my friends because they make me feel happy. I love shopping because I like buying new clothes and putting together new outfits. I also really like to run and challenge myself. I like to run between 1-4 miles, depending on how I’m feeling. I also like to watch and discover new movies I haven’t heard about.
How do you balance school and your social life? I feel like it’s really important to make a strict schedule for yourself to balance time. I definitely put school before my social life. I make sure to get any studying out of the way and to do my school work right away so I can be prepared.
What are your strengths? I’m very hardworking when it comes to school, academics, sports, and my job. I prioritize those things so I definitely try my best when it comes to those things. I’m a self advocate, if I really need help I can ask someone for it and I’m not afraid to. I’m very resilient, no matter what I’ve been through I always pick myself back up and that made me into the person I am today.
Any college in mind? For college, I plan on going to UIC or DePaul. I’ve always wanted to go so I’m super excited to decide when FAFSA comes back.
What are your career goals? My careers goal is definitely to become a therapist but I also want to study early childhood education so I enhance my knowledge.
Who are your favorite artists? My favorite artists are Brent Faiyaz, Fey Webster, and Tyler the Creator.
