Who has been a role model to you? My dad moved here from China, so I really appreciate all the work he’s done for me and my family here.
How do you approach challenges or setbacks in your life? I try to relax and think about it from a logical point of view so I can go at the problem the best way possible.
How do you manage academic responsibilities with your personal life? I try to do as much academic work as I can at school so when I get home I’m not stressed and I have more time for my own personal things. If I do my work at home I’ll have a lot less time to do things I do for personal joy.
What do you think sets you apart from other students and individuals? I like to think I’m really hard working and I get as involved as I can in my classes.
How has your cultural background influenced your perspective on the world? I’m half-Chinese, so I have two sides and two cultures so I see things from a somewhat unique point of view.
If you could have any superpower what would it be and why? To stop time so I could do whatever I wanted, but mostly get work and other things I needed to do done.
Where do you hope to be in the next 10 years? Done with college, I’ll probably be majoring in some STEM major since I want a science degree. I hope to be in a stable job and if I meet the right person, start a family. I also want to have a stable friend group in life so I can have emotional support from more than just my family.
If you could have dinner with any person alive or dead who would it be and why? Jay Z, wait no. I have no idea, Joe Biden I guess so I can talk to him about the state of our nation.
What’s the most embarrassing thing that’s ever happened to you (that you’re willing to share)? Hopefully, not a lot of people read this, this is a thinker… once, I was in a Band (I play the clarinet) I squeaked super loudly in front of the entire band, it was so bad and everyone started laughing.
If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life what would it be? Probably rice with bok choy, I just think it’s really good and it’s pretty healthy as well.
What’s your favorite way to relax and unwind after a long or stressful day? Sleep, I just want to go to bed and sleep. I say it’s going to be 10 minutes but it’s probably going to be around 20 hours.
