On Jan. 10, the Niles North co-ed cheer team placed first at the Central Suburban League (CSL) Conference. The championship this year was held at Glenbrook North. This marks their CSL Conference 8th win in the last 11 years. Although, this is their first time winning CSL since 2021.
Winning CSL was an important step for the team, “I think for a good handful of our team winning CSL this year was one of our goals,” sophomore Kyle Calimlim said.
Moving forward, the team is looking forward to sectionals on Jan. 27. If they can come through and place top 5, they will move on to perform at State.
“We 100% have the potential to win sectionals as long as we stay focused and persevere,” Calimlim said.
The team has performed a routine filled with advanced stunts and tumbling. The squad asks that you wish them good luck at Sectionals this Jan. 27.
