On Aug. 24, girls Varsity volleyball officially started their season with an opening game against Lane Tech, and although the girls did not come out with a win, it motivated them to grow and come together, which brought them a win in their second game against Wheeling.
Their record is currently 13-14, with 3 wins and 1 loss in conference, making them 4th in the Central Suburban League.
The girls have had a lot of success, but also a lot of fun.
“I really have enjoyed the volleyball season so far this year,” senior Ariana Ardeleanu said. “I think it’s one of my favorite seasons because I really like everyone on the team, it’s basically made up of all my friends which makes it so much fun and it makes the team dynamic really good. I really enjoy doing team bonding and I have high hopes for the conference. I think if we work really hard, we will be able to do well this year.”
The volleyball team along with the rest of the Niles North fans are looking forward to the remainder of the season, continuing with their next game on Sep. 27, against Vernon Hills.
