Girls’ Soccer celebrates senior night with a win
On May 6, Niles North’s Girls’ Soccer team triumphed over Leyden High School on Senior Night.
At the end of the game, the Vikings won with a score of 4-3.
At first, the team was down 0-3 in the second half. However, they fought and made a huge comeback in the last 25 minutes of the second half. Freshman Keani Martinez scored 2 goals, freshman Ava Reotutar scored one, and senior Karina Haro scored the game-winning goal.
“I have played soccer at Niles North for all my 4 years here,” Haro said. “It has taught me so many things and I love getting close to a great group of girls. I would say senior night was definitely a great way to the upcoming end of my senior year.”
Their excitement about the win definitely brought the energy to their senior night. There were posters dedicated to the seniors on the team and their teammates surprised them with gifts and flowers. Family and friends supported the seniors as this was one of their last games of their high school career. The seniors were walked out by their families before the game.
Seniors on the team are:
- Captain – Ana Planinic
- Captain – Alyssa Maranan
- Captain – Victoria Ejeh
- Karina Haro
- Helen Alfaro
- Karley Gomez
- Ruby Hernandez
- Anna Savini
- Amanda Telefson
Congratulations to Girls’ Soccer on their end of the season! Best of luck to all graduating seniors on their goals after high school.
