NN library prepares for a full remodel
The Niles North library will be closing early in order to go through a major renovation. May 12 will be the last day this year that students will be able to use the library, however, according to assistant principal Marlon Felton there should still be an area for quiet study somewhere else in the building.
Besides a few cosmetic updates here and there, the library hasn’t been fully redone in over 20 years. There will be a lot of new features, including an electric fireplace, which librarians Caitlin Greener and Beverly Zbiden have expressed great excitement for.
“I’m excited about the idea that being in a new space will spark new ideas for us as librarians, and inspire us to try new things,” Greener said.
Students should be excited to see the new library when they come into school next year.
