Thea Abang, Sophomore
What is your name and grade? My name is Thea Abang, I’m in tenth grade. I’m a sophomore.
What are some activities you do here at NN? I’m in a lot of clubs around the school– I’m part of astronomy club as one of the board members, I’m also part of PASA as one of the board members, I’m in DM, Climate-Change club, I was part of Recycling club, and I was also apart of Calliope.
Is it true that you founded astronomy club? I wouldn’t say that I founded it, I co-founded it with a group of friends.
What inspired you to do astronomy club? Honestly, my friends were really interested in astronomy and they wanted someone to help with graphics and that type of stuff, and that’s why I showed my interest in it.
Why would you recommend people to join this club? I would recommend other people to join because it doesn’t matter how good or how much knowledge you have about astronomy, a lot of the club is focused on, well, yes, learning about astronomy, but there are also fun activities.
What inspired you to join DM? I knew a lot of the seniors and a lot of the upperclassmen in the club, I also joined because a lot of the people were recruited freshman year, and it’s also nice to be able to help out in charity.
What are some of your achievements? I’ve done a couple of things for photography and graphic design, for example, for the scholastic competition, I won a couple of awards for that as well.
What are some of your hobbies? As I said before, I really like photography, and I also really like graphic design. Other than that, I like crocheting as well.
What’s your favorite TV show? That’s a really good question. I don’t know; I haven’t really watched any TV shows but one show that I really want to check out is called Scandal.
If you could live anywhere, where would it be? I would like to live in San Francisco.
