The Niles North girl’s soccer team started their season on Feb. 28, and they’ve started off strong with a victory.

The team held their first match on March 15th vs Resurrection at Niles North. They finished off the game with a score of 4-0. Two of the goals were scored by freshman Keani Martinez, one was scored by freshman Brianna Tatar, and another was scored by senior Victoria Ejeh.

The team hopes to continue to strongly move forward, win more matches, and make this an amazing season–but have fun at the same time.

“I hope to get at least 10 wins,” girls’ soccer head coach Mihajlo Vlaskovic  said. “But other than that, I would really like to turn these girls into great soccer players, have fun, create a memorable experience, and overall just enjoy this as much as possible.”

The girls continue to improve by practicing often after school, and even in the early mornings. They will have their next game on Thursday, March 23, away at Lincoln Park. This upcoming weekend, the soccer team will also participate in a tournament at Glenbrook North on March 24 and 25. The girls hope their peers will come out to support them.
