The boys’ baseball season has just begun at North, and it’s off to a rocky start. The Vikings have had 3 games so far and unfortunately have not started off strong. They began their season in Chicago against DePaul College Prep on March 15, losing the game 10-0.  They reduced the deficit in their next game on the 20th, losing 10-5 to Whitney Young, another Chicago-based school.

Their most recent game was held at Niles West against Niles Notre Dame, a game in which they lost 7-0.  Although the team hasn’t won a game yet, they aren’t discouraged. “Our season hasn’t started off great but we’re nowhere near quitting,” junior Mitchell Tuchten said. “We have a solid team, and I don’t think our current record reflects that. I think every team needs a few games to warm up to their season, we’ve just played some stronger opponents to start off.”

The team is playing every game this year on the road. Their next game will be held against and at Von Steuben on March 24 at 4:30. The team hopes their fellow peers will come out to support them. You can find updates for the team on Instagram @nn.baseball.
