Bella Kaminsky, Senior
What’s your name and what grade are you in? My name is Bella Kaminsky, and I’m a senior.
What has been your fondest memory at North over the past 4 years? … probably anything that happened during my senior year. Freshman through Junior year tainted the high school experience for me like so many other students. So I wanted to make the most out of my senior year. I’ve had so much fun going to football games with my friends, applying to colleges, and just appreciating the time I have left at North before entering the adult world.
You’re going to state for FCCLA under the fashion category, what are you most excited about? I’m looking forward to just going. This is my second time qualifying for state, but I never got to attend the first time due to the pandemic. I’m excited to compete and meet new people from different schools!
What are your plans after graduating? After graduation, my plan is to attend Drexel University in Philadelphia and major in music business with a minor in sustainability.
What’s the biggest piece of advice you’d give to an underclassman? Try everything North has to offer. You may have come into school envisioning yourself taking one path or thinking you’re only capable of certain things, but you’ll never know the great things that lie beyond your comfort zone if you don’t try to seek out new opportunities.
What’s a fun fact about you that not too many people know? Many people know I have a record collection, but they don’t know how extensive it is; I own around 340 vinyl records. Another fact about me is that I have a Zillow/house-hunting obsession.
Who inspires you? My uncle George is a big inspiration to me. He’s done well for himself but lives an incredibly humble life. He has so many diverse passions and allows himself to explore them all. I could talk to him for hours. He’s funny, charismatic, and always has a thrilling story to share.
You used to be in journalism, how will you continue your passion for the craft outside of school? I think finding outlets of creativity will allow me to continue my journalism skills, whether that be a college radio station or a magazine.
What do you value most in life? Making connections is really important to me. I’ve never considered myself an extrovert in any way shape or form, but I love meeting people and hearing their stories. Not only does it open my mind to new ideas and helps with networking, but you make friends along the way too.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? Hopefully in a position where I’m doing something I love, traveling the world, and owning a Volvo.
What’s it like being a twin? It’s definitely interesting. I wouldn’t trade it for anything, but it comes with its struggles. For example, I see myself as an individual, but many others can’t separate the two of us from one another. This has also been a common struggle for my teachers throughout the duration of my school career. At the end of the day, I think it’s a unique bond that many siblings don’t share and for that I love it.
If you could spend the day with any three celebrities, who would they be? My perfect day would be spent with Lester Holt, Lady Gaga, and Ozzy Osbourne. I think this would be a very fun mix of people.
