Trevor Noah, host of “The Daily Show”, sheds a tearful goodbye to his viewers

After seven years on “The Daily Show”, host Trevor Noah bids farewell to his viewers.

Trevor Noah, being Black and South African, distinguished himself from other talk-show hosts, giving him a global perspective that so many others lacked, especially in a business dominated by White men.

Noah announced his departure in September, explaining that he wished he had spent more time focusing on other aspects of life, such as time with family and friends or live comedy shows.

“I’m grateful to you, every single one of you,” Noah said. “I remember when we started the show, we couldn’t get enough people to fill an audience. Every seat that has ever been filled to watch something I’m doing is always appreciated because I know the empty seat that sits behind it.”

He then went on to thank the Black women in his life, a beautifully emotional tribute.

“I’ve often been credited with having these grand ideas,” Noah said. “Who do you think teaches me, who do you think has shaped me, nourished me, informed me. From my mom, my gran, my aunts, all these black women in my life but then in America as well.”

His show will be missed, as it was filled with comedy and laughter, as well as pure enlightenment.

“I will miss hearing from him every weeknight because he was the perfect end to my days,” avid Trevor Noah viewer Tamika Labelle said. “He was relatable and hilarious.”

“I’ll tell you now, do yourself a favor,” Noah said. “If you truly want to know what to do or how to do it, or maybe the best way or the most equitable way, talk to Black women. They’re a lot of the reason why I’m here. So I’m grateful to them and I’m grateful to you. This has been an honor, thank you.”
