Dance Marathon hosted a very successful trivia night on Friday, Nov. 11, which featured prizes, a chance to support charity, and lots of fun.

The trivia night was held in order to raise money for Dance Marathon’s primary beneficiary, The Harbour, as well as The Education Foundation. Participants were invited to come in teams of 3-6 people, with the cost being $5 per person. The event was hosted in the Niles North Commons, with attendees engaging in 5 rounds (10 questions each). The categories included Pop Culture, Sports, General Trivia, Things I Should Have Learned in High School, and Thanksgiving Stuff(ing).

In terms of generating money, the event was very successful, with the club raising a whopping $400+ for charity. Many different kinds of guests participated in the affair, including Dance Marathon honorary chairperson, Superintendent Moore. In the end, the victorious team was the aptly named “Oh the Humanities,” which consisted of Mr. Moore and other humanities teachers.

And as for reviews – people loved it. “It was great, it was very positive, [and a] huge turnout” social studies teacher and sponsor Pankaj Sharma said. “[It] was a lot of fun.” On the question about a possible repeat of the event in the future, Sharma says,”Yeah, absolutely; I think they’re going to do it again next semester.”
