NN Boys Basketball looks to roll through another successful season
The start of November marks the beginning of winter sports at Niles North; and with that, the Boys Basketball season begins.
The Vikings last season had a record of 20-8 overall and placed second in the Central Suburban League North, with a record of 7-3. Their season ended against Glenbrook South in the Regional Championship playoff game, falling 4 points short of a win. However, this year marks a fresh start for the Vikings as they aim to continue their dominance in the CSL.
“I’d like to win conference and win regionals; make it to play in sectionals,” Niles North varsity point guard Reid Olson said, “ Last year I was a shooter, I can score at all three levels and developed a better pull-up jump shot, and getting better at scoring in more ways while also being good from three.”
In addition to personal growth, there have also been a few transfers of notable players from cross-town rival Evanston Township High School, varsity point guard Reid Olson explains.
“ The two transfers we got, one’s a sophomore and one’s a senior from over the summer, one’s a good point guard while the other is well rounded and adds a lot of good depth to the team,” Olson said. “We haven’t really played with each other much and are starting to build a dynamic as far as who’s good at what and building off that.”
However their season may go, the Vikings look to start out strong against Legal Prep on Monday, Nov. 21.
