Marvel’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever trailer gives insight to the highly anticipated movie
Marvel’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will premiere Nov. 11 and the new trailer gives fans a preview to where the series may venture after the passing of Chadwick Boseman, the actor who portrayed the titular character,
Marvel’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022) is a sequel to Marvel’s Black Panther (2018). The original film grossed $1.344 billion, featuring Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa, the king/superhero from the fictional African country of Wakanda. Black Panther (2018) was the first Marvel movie to feature a nearly entirely Black cast, comment on the racial issues in America, and celebrate African culture, consequently the first film leaves a lasting impact on the Black Community.
Boseman unfortunately passed away in late Aug. 2020. The death of the iconic actor ultimately forced Marvel to switch directions for the Black Panther namesake, the new trailer is the first look of where the films plan to go.The sequel will feature Letitia Wright as Shuri, T’Challa’s younger sister, seemingly taking on the mantle of Black Panther.
Returning cast also includes Michael B. Jordan as Kilmonger, Lupita Nyong’o as Nakia, Winston Duke as M’Baku, Danai Guirra as Okoye, Angela Bassett as Ramonda, and Daniel Kaluuya as W’Kabi.
Latino actor Tenoch Huerta will portray the antagonist, Namor (or Kukulkan), the “Feathered Serpent” is a Mesopotamian deity featured in a plethora of Marvel comics, the inclusion of this character introduces unprecedented indigenous representation in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Also among the new cast members are Dominique Thorne as Ironheart and Mitzi Mabel Cadena as Namora.
