Black Teen Summit
The second annual Black Teen Summit is back on for April 26th!
The Black Teen Summit for District 219 is up and running! This year’s summit will be held in person for the first time ever at Niles West Highschool on Tuesday April 26th. The theme of the summit this year is Black excellence.
This event was designed to be an uplifting and inspirational summit for the next generation of Black scholars here in District 219. As the new generation of Black leaders, summits like this are essential to uplift and support young Black people and equip them with the knowledge and skill sets to continue to be successful beyond highschool.
At approximately 8:10am the summit will begin, starting with District 219 students showcasing their talents. This segment of the event will celebrate the multicultural nature of Blackness. Moving forward through the ceremony, the summit will also feature four different speakers, including the keynote speaker, Dr. Michael Allen.
All students who identify as African, Black or Caribbean and are encouraged to attend this summit and can request a permission slip. Transportation will be provided to and from the event. Click this link to learn more about the Black Teen Summit.
