The Masters 2022: Tiger Woods finishes 47th Place

On Sunday, April 10, the Masters concluded with Tiger Woods finishing in 47th place with a score of 78. This left him with a total score of 301, 13 over par.

Tiger Woods returned to the Masters and opened with a 1-under-71 on Thursday’s opening round. Despite an exciting opening to the tournament that put Woods in the top ten, he was lacking the keenness for a 6th title. Tiger Woods limped – physically and metaphorically –  throughout the entirety of the closing stages on Sunday.

Woods stated before the tournament that he would not play at the Masters or any tournament for that matter if he thought that he couldn’t win. However, seeing what he put his body through, it was reasonable to say that there may not be as many chances to watch him in his prime.

Although Woods hit sensational and amazing drives, he struggled in his short game. He never really seemed to find a rhythm to support his short game. However, he still managed to show some of his old skills and game. As Woods continues his recovery process, many hope that this was simply a prelude to what is to come. Hopefully, he will play more Tours in the near future.

Tiger Woods concluded his 24th Masters by congratulating Scottie Schefler, the winner of the tournament. “I didn’t play my best out there, but just to have the support and appreciation from all the fans, I don’t think words can describe that,”Woods said. “Congratulations to Scottie Scheffler on an outstanding win. It’s been a special run.”

Woods confirmed in an interview with Sky Sports that he will be returning to the 150th Open at Saint Andrews this summer. However, he isn’t sure about competing in the upcoming majors such as the PGA Championship next month.
