Senior Kaiilina Lainez competes at State
On February 12, senior Kaiilina Lainez finished first place at the IHSA Girls Bowling Sectional finals. Starting her first round with a score of 277, Lainez finished with a winning score of 1296.
Over the long weekend, Lainez competed at Rockford where IHSA State was hosted. When asked about her reflection on her performance, she states that she felt like she, “Did well… I had a huge bounce back from 107th to 22nd place.” She also expressed that she was upset because she knew she could have done better. “It was a good and exciting way to end my high school career,” Lainez said.
However, this experience will only further her long-term participation in competitive bowling since she will continue competing in the future.
And to the readers who would like to participate in bowling Laniez says, “Just do it. It’s free bowling and you meet new people and make connections.”
