That’s it for boys basketball. As their game against Glenbrook South ended, so did their season. While their season may have ended on a bit of a bummer, their season was anything but.

After starting out 2-2, the team caught fire, winning 10 of their next 12 games. Led by seniors Yogi Oliff and Cyrus Walker, Niles North posted another incredible 20-8 record. This allowed North to make the playoffs yet again.

After their thrilling win against Maine South, North was set to face Glenbrook South, who is #2 in the state. Glenbrook South were huge favorites heading into the game, but that didn’t scare North. Once the game started, you could tell this was going to be a battle, and it didn’t disappoint. With the game going back and forth, North held the lead with under 2 minutes left in the game. Unfortunately, GBS had their late game heroics save them from an upset, as they won by 3.

Even in the loss, there was no denying that North played with everything they had. You never want to lose, but their loss to GBS doesn’t take away from an unbelievable season.
