Niles North has scheduled for graduation and prom to be held for seniors in a covid safe way. Prom is scheduled for May 15 and the class of 2021 graduation will be on May 23. Information following prom and graduation will be down below.

Dear D219 Students and Families,

The highlight of every school year is graduation. It presents us with the chance to recognize the achievements of our seniors and to highlight future plans as you embark on your early adventures as young adults. We recognize how important it is to each of you to mark the passage of this important milestone. It is also an important opportunity to come together as a community and celebrate with parents, friends, and extended family. After careful consideration, which took into account the social distancing and mass gatherings parameters set by Skokie

Health Department, IDPH, and our District Administration; here are D219’s plans for graduation.We appreciate your patience during this process.

Physical Graduation

Niles North High School on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at the Chuck Pos Stadium, located at NilesNorth High School 9800 Lawler Avenue, Skokie, IL. Both ceremonies will begin promptly at 11:00 a.m. for graduates whose last names begin with the letters A – L and 3:00 p.m. for the graduates whose last name begins with the letters M – Z.

• All Guests and participants must wear a mask.
• Please plan to arrive early. Doors will open one hour prior to the ceremony.
• Graduates need to be in their assigned places no later than 45 minutes prior to their start time for final attendance.
• Tickets are required for admission; each student is limited to 2 tickets.
• A Commencement Bulletin in its entirety will be shared by each building individually.

Physical Graduation Make-Up Date (Inclement Weather)

Niles North High School on Monday, May 24, 2021 at the Chuck Pos Stadium, located at Niles North High School 9800 Lawler Avenue, Skokie, IL. (Times are the same as originally scheduled)

Drive-Through Graduation (tentative, based on developing conditions)

In the event that the guidelines for social distancing and mass gatherings change or inclement weather, and we can’t host an in-person graduation ceremony, we have tentatively scheduled a drive through graduation (with possible restrictions) on Sunday, May 23 at Niles North. Times will be communicated as we receive more details. We acknowledge the profound disappointment that our seniors have faced during this historic health challenge in our country and around the world. That being said, we are confident that we can honor their contributions to D219 in one or more dignified graduation scenarios.

Cap and Gown Pickup/Misc.

Details on cap, gown, cords, tickets, yearbook pickup as well as textbook return information will be communicated next week.
