Girls track team places First in open meet
The Niles North girls track team is off to a strong start, and got first place in the 4 by 400 in their open meet at Niles West.
“I think the season is going really well,“ Jessica Kimmel Choldin, sophomore track member said. “We are off to a really strong start and we have a lot of good people coming in.”
“The challenges are to get strong, also athletes are in different races, and different events so there are different techniques and strategies for them to learn.” Coach Pankanin, the high jumping coach said. “We are a smaller team compared to the other conference teams, so we want to be competitive.”
When asked how the season is going, she said, “Excellent. We have returning athletes that come back strong. We have students that are new to track and we’re making good progress.”
