NN Cheer wins 1st place at CSL
On Jan 16, Niles North Varsity Co Cheer team won 1st place at Central Suburban League competition for the 2nd time in a row. This is their 6th CSL title in 8 years.
When asked about the win, Niles North Cheer Coach, Alexandra Landon, said, “They did fantastic. I know they’re growing and practice hard everyday.” Landon also believes that the cheer team will win next year if they work hard everyday.
Senior Varsity Cheerleader, Briana Covington, was very happy with the win. “I was proud of my team,” said Brianna Covington. “Even though 2 stunts fell but we hit everything else.”
It was great to hear from one of the winning cheerleaders.This shows how they’ll continue to improve each year after their title.
Even though the competitive cheerleading season ended, you can still see Cheerleaders at one of the Niles North Varsity home games in the main gym on Jan 24 at 7 PM against Main West.
