Chicken Noodle Soup,a new hit single sung by BTS’
J-Hope and Becky G, has hit number 16 on iTunes since
it’s release on September 27.
“It’s a really good song,” senior Nathan Lagato
said. “If you like chicken noodle soup.”
There are multiple factors which contributed to
the way this song was produced. The two hip-hop/pop
artists added their own rap verses as well as the catchy
line “chicken noodle soup with soda on the side”, which
adds a flair of pop. Not only are their singing styles a factor, but their cultures. Becky G, who is
Mexican-American, has a verse on spanish and Jung Hoseok, who is Korean, has a verse in his native
language as well.
“Chicken Noodle Soup was a surprising remake of the original soundtrack,” senior Joy de Leon said,
“Even though both Becky G and J-Hope were both from very different cultures, their diversity and the
backup dancers were able to tie the song together; which made a whole new song that still paid tribute to
the original with a new and more modern twist.”
