Never too early for Santa

Maggi Kreisheh

When you think of November, you think of Thanksgiving, food, the awkward weather that you don’t know how to dress for, food… and turkey– which is also food. But this year, 93.9 Lite FM changed my November;  they started blasting their Christmas music that I love dearly and have kept it on replay.

Whether it was the cheerful sound of “Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer” or the sparkle of the holiday decorations at the mall by Macy’s, Nordstrom and Bloomingdales, Christmas feels nearer than ever especially since it’s ONLY 20 DAYS AWAY (and counting).

People suddenly seem nicer and more relaxed when the holiday spirit gets ahold of them.

Personally, I am the freak that starts preparing for next Christmas on Dec. 26. I’m in the mood for Christmas all year long.

My best friend and my locker partner, junior Camille Paskind, who is just as enthusiastic about Christmas as I am, knew how much I love Christmas and made me a Christmas-themed birthday gift. Her gift put us in the Christmas mood even all the way back in September.

At the start of the school year I hung up my Christmas lights and stocking in my locker and in November I put up a small tree in the corner of my room.

I don’t think it’s ever too early to show one’s holiday spirit. As a matter of a fact, it’s rather late now since you only have 39 days to buy holiday gifts, make sugar cookies and gingerbread houses and decorate your house with holiday decorations. Santa is almost here!

As the snow starts to fall to give us a beautiful white Christmas this year, I recommend that you start your holiday shopping early and put out a plate of cookies because Santa Claus is coming to town.
