For Niles North seniors, deadlines for college applications are right around the corner.

Luckily, the school has a not-so-hidden gem, the College Career Center (CCC) located in room 1255 during periods 1 until 4:15 pm after school, to assist with the process and any questions that may come up during the process, whether that’s navigating the FAFSA on Wednesdays; Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or how to write a solid personal statement. CCC counselor Ms. G-S and assistant Ms. Lee are by the students’ side each step of the way.

Many times, study halls are distracting from getting work done as they usually turn into social hours for students and friends. The CCC hosts a comfortable, quiet environment for students to come in and focus on getting things done with support from professionals.

“[The CCC] has helped me realize that I am not alone in the college application process,” senior and frequent visitor of the CCC Crystal Patto said.

During this first semester, the CCC has hosted many college representative visits from all over the country that students can sign up for through Maia Learning, as well as future conversations to be held about alternative paths and opportunities for students who aren’t planning on attending a college/university.

The first deadline for early action and decision submissions is November 1. The regular decision deadline is January 1, 2023.
