Niles North Theater presents Sister Act, March 10-12

Save the date for March 10-12 because Niles North Theater is presenting Sister Act in the Auditorium.

If you’re sitting there reading this thinking, “I haven’t seen Sister Act before”, do not fear.

You don’t need to be familiar with the movie to enjoy this live version of Sister Act,” director Tim Ortmann said.  “For people who love the movie, it will be like having a lot of laughs with an old friend!” He also adds, “This is a show which is easy to enjoy for audiences of all ages.”

Though directors are supposed to be impartial, Ortmann has a favorite part of this production.

“I love being back working with students on a live, musical production!” Ortmann said. “Everyone is working so hard – and they’re really talented.  The show already has a great vibe! I think that’s the best part: it’s such a feel-good experience. You find yourself smiling all the time.”

As the show is a few weeks from rising the curtain, Ortmann is optimistic.

“The play is going to be terrific!” Ortmann said. “We’ve got a terrific cast and crew; the musicians are wonderful! We’re having a lot of fun putting it together, and I think that feeling will carry over to the audience.”

The cast’s interaction with one another is notable when putting up the show.

I love so many aspects of the musical, but my favorite part has to be working with upperclassmen” freshman Ruby Rosenburg said. “I’m so inspired by their talent, positive attitude, and kindness. They make me excited for the future of the theater department. I want to be just like them!”

Students can still join stage crew. To get tickets to the play, click here
