Candied apples. Thick cut french fries. Chocolate dipped pretzels. These are just a few creations that creative cooking members make.

Creative cooking club is an after school extracurricular offering where students can make a variety of edible creations.

“Everything that we make is based on students’ suggestions. Pizza, tacos, and desserts are the most popular requests, ” Koda said.

We work in groups when we are cooking. In this collaborative environment we work in groups to get things done faster and to bond with the other kids in the group. This is a great alternative if you are not in the Chefs class if you still want to cook.

“It’s a great club to learn life skills, get to know other students, and bring home something tasty,” Koda said.

When asked why she wanted to be the sponsor for the club Koda responded, “That’s an easy one; it’s because I love to cook! Ask any student of mine, and they will tell you how excited I get about food.” She is very passionate about cooking and being the cooking club sponsor.

Club members join for many reasons. Shafia Mehdi joined “because [her] mom is a professional chef and [she wants] to get on her level.”

Club member, Rachel Jacob, said what makes this club fun is that “it’s really social and you get to make food.” This is a major plus if you want to hang out with your friends and make food.

Club member Ysa Quiballo said that you should join the club because, “It’s really fun if you bring your friends and there is free food.”

It seems like a pretty good reason to join so come out to room 1610 the chefs room to come join us to make something savory on March 6 at 3:30 pm.
