The Niles North High School (NNHS) theatre presents “We The People,” written and directed by Tyrone Phillips, in the NNHS auditorium from Nov. 16-18, 2017.

There will be three community performances and four regular performances. The regular performances will be at 4 P.M. and at 7 P.M. both Friday and Saturday. Tickets will be ten dollars at the door and the days prior to the performances.

The play is about an African American student named Future and discusses topics of racism especially when it comes to schools. “It’s really focused around the idea of racism and where it came from.” Jessica Hansen, senior and stage manager, said.

One of the interesting parts of the play is that the cast members have the chance to add their own voice to the play.

Phillips added sections to the play where students could add poems that they wrote themselves. “So all the poems that you hear, if you come see the show, they’re all written by cast members.” Hansen said.

Make sure to buy tickets before they run out and check out this play this weekend.
